The Princess Who Wouldn't Laugh
Each scene of the show represented a different part of the basement that could become costume pieces or props with a child's imagination. In The Princess Who wouldn't Laugh The concept was holiday items that had been distrusted throughout the years. To represent our unhappy princess who assumes she is better than everyone else. I played with the idea of her representing Christmas in a comical manner.
The idea around the costumes was that every character would wear what color they where feeling in that scene. With that at the end of the show I wanted Stevie in all white to show the pureness of her after she commits a violent act.

Snake Leaves Princess
The concept for Snake Leaves Princess was kids' arts and crafts. As a child, I remember spending several hours making fun by creating duck tape purses, houses out of cardboard for my toys, etc. out of anything I could find throughout the house. Which is what I wanted this scene to look like.
The idea around the costumes was that every character would wear what color they where feeling in that scene. With that at the end of the show I wanted Stevie in all white to show the pureness of her after she commits a violent act.

The Three Blind Queens
In The Three Blind Queens, my concept was that each of the queens represented a bug you would find in a basement and if a child wanted to pretend to be that bug what would it look like? The three blind queens and their princes represented spiders, beetles, and lightning bugs. The nursemaid was a moth and the ambassador was a cricket. I accomplished this with spiderman blankets and paper crowns where instead of jewels you would see painted eyes and big whimsical feathers in hats.
The idea around the costumes was that every character would wear what color they where feeling in that scene. With that at the end of the show I wanted Stevie in all white to show the pureness of her after she commits a violent act.

Stolen Pennies
In Stolen Pennies, the concept was if you were to ask a kid to draw what a normal family looks like. What kind of social ideals would they push into? Would mom be wearing an apron and glasses? Would dad be wearing a polo and glasses? Would your brothers be wearing a red baseball cap? Would little sister have a big bow in her hair? Is a stranger a person with a trench coat and a hat shading their face?
The idea around the costumes was that every character would wear what color they where feeling in that scene. With that at the end of the show I wanted Stevie in all white to show the pureness of her after she commits a violent act.

The Seven Swans, or Silent for Seven Years
In The Seven Swans or Silent for Seven Years, the concept was deserted family fun. For this our seven brothers all whore matching family bowling shirts with the family name attached to it them. The hard part about this was deciding what little sister and the evil mother-in-law would wear. For this, I ended up with the idea of deserted princess gowns that maybe a mother and daughter would play together in but now have long been forgotten.
The idea around the costumes was that every character would wear what color they where feeling in that scene. With that at the end of the show I wanted Stevie in all white to show the pureness of her after she commits a violent act.

Allerliera
In Allerliera, the concept was mom and dad's youthful clothes from the 70s that have long been forgotten. In this scene, I represented this with old prom dresses, dirty fur coats, and old shirts.
The idea around the costumes was that every character would wear what color they where feeling in that scene. With that at the end of the show I wanted Stevie in all white to show the pureness of her after she commits a violent act.
